Director of Lab/Prevention Services - Apply HERE

The Director of Lab/ Prevention Services is responsible for the overall performance of the testing and prevention programs of Maui AIDS Foundation (MAF); ensuring all testing and prevention program objectives are met. The Director of Lab/ Prevention Services oversees all aspects of community programming including day-to-day operations, outreach, education, testing services and program evaluations. The Director is fiscally responsible for the department in order to sustain services. This includes research and keeping updated on topics pertaining to HIV, HCV, syphilis and STI prevention methods; meeting goals established in various grant contracts; creating quarterly/annual reports; managing budgets; managing overall operation and administration of MAF’s CLIA-waived laboratory; and prevention staff management, training, scheduling, and supervision.

Essential Functions:

Staff Supervision and Development

    Provides direct supervision of all prevention staff including recruitment, orientation, work load assignments, individual and group supervision and evaluation.
    Coordinates staff training and professional development opportunities.

Program Management

    Provides strategic development and guidance in the overall growth and development of the Prevention Department.
    Monitors and ensures appropriate implementation and collaboration of testing/ prevention programs with grant contracts and other commitments.
    Oversees MAF’s HIV, HCV and syphilis testing program, coordinates supplies and equipment for its operation and assures compliance with the applicable regulations and laboratory inspections.
    Evaluates all elements of prevention programs to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, legislative, program guidance and contractual requirements.
    Oversees the development and implementation of program outreach materials.
    When applicable, oversees subcontracts with other agencies pertaining to the delivery of prevention programs/services.
    Coordinates with internal and external partners to ensure strong inter-program collaboration.
    Provides oversight of the Prevention Department databases to ensure timely data entry by staff and efficient data retrieval.

Community Collaboration

    Actively seeks community partnerships and collaborations and effectively develops relationships with community members.
    Collaborates and develops positive working relationships with relevant community groups/organizations that aid in coordinating services for people living with HIV (PLWH) and those at high-risk for HIV.
    Coordinates community events and outreach activities that promote program services and overall MAF services.

Grants, Reporting and Budget Monitoring

    Prepares and submits program reports in a timely manner and as requested by funding sources of programs supervised.
    Researches grant opportunities with the Executive Director and appropriate staff and assists with development of grant proposals.
    Develops and maintains program budgets, authorizes approval of expenditures, and ensures operation of programs within budget constraints.

General Management

    Participates in organizational management activities through the implementation of agency policies and procedures.
    Active participation on MAF’s management team by supporting staff adherence to agency policies and procedures.
    Supports the mission and vision of the Maui AIDS Foundation.
    Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Director.

Education:

    Minimum: Bachelor's (Preferred)
