PLEASE NOTE !
We currently have a wait list for housing assistance programs of approximately 1 year at this time.
Housing is healthcare. This we know from experience. If a person
living with HIV is in a stable housing situation, their health improves. No miraculous insight here, just plain
common sense.
In a place where affordable housing is a challenge for
everyone, Maui AIDS Foundation is working hard to make sure that those whom we
serve are not going homeless.
We partner with Malama Pono - Kauai AIDS Project and the
Hawai`i Island HIV/AIDS Foundation to provide decent and affordable housing to
our clients who meet certain eligibility requirements.
Long term and short term emergency housing support are
provided depending on need and availability.
Funding is provided by the Housing Opportunities for People
With AIDS (HOPWA) program of the Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD). The Hawai`i Public Housing
Authority (HPHA) partners with MAF and HUD, to provide some HOPWA funding.
